Major Shockwaves! The Sex Scene in 'The Idol' leave fans aghast: 'Is this The Weeknd we idolized?'
TV aficionados were shell-shocked by a racy scene that graced the screens during HBO's "The Idol" this past Sunday night.
The scene (above) showed The Weeknd telling to “fuckkin’ stretch that tiny little pussy.”
The controversial clip showcased The Weeknd, now better known by his birth name, Abel Tesfaye, articulating an explicit directive to a woman.
The show, already classified as a "grinding sexual fantasy," faced heightened disapproval the moment the contentious scene was broadcasted.
"Never will perceive the weeknd in the same light after this #theidol," posted one perturbed viewer on Twitter, the Weeknd's usual stomping ground.
"OMG, The Weeknd seems like such a pervert," chimed in another.
"One really needs Abel to face some flak for this unsettling scene in The Idol," another fan put forth his dismay.
One viewer expressed such disillusionment with the "Blinding Lights" singer that she declared she had "lost respect" for him.
Several admirers have expressed their disappointment in The Weeknd after a graphic sex scene from his HBO series, "The Idol," hit the airwaves.
The scandalizing scene
A segment of the fandom confessed "losing respect" for The Weeknd post airing of the X-rated scene during his HBO spectacle, "The Idol."
"Somebody posted the whole sex scene from The Idol and.. just saying I lost respect for the weeknd," a user reported in a tweet.
"Apologies, but doing such things on TV, especially GRAPHICALLY, is peculiar."
Amidst The Storm, Lily-Rose Depp Shines
The show, also spotlighting Lily-Rose Depp and conceived by "Euphoria" genius Sam Levinson, has been lambasted as "comedically disastrous." Regardless, Depp, at 24, maintains her chin up amidst the show's debut at the Cannes Film Festival, despite criticism for exposing too much "skin."
"I absolutely adore Abel," Depp asserted about her co-star and the show's executive producer during a recap of Episode 1 that aired post-premiere.
"His ability to blend into this role is a challenge that would daunt many."
While the "Uncut Gems" artist, at 33, has been harshly critiqued for his performance, Depp has been hailed as "frighteningly splendid," notwithstanding the challenging content she's been assigned.
Depp also brushes aside the scandal with humor, including a parody of her character by "Saturday Night Live" comedian, Chloe Fineman.
"I'm loling 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ..... and your makeup is on point," Depp chimed in the comments.
